About Kelly
Meet Kelly Armstrong
Kelly dreams of homes and workplaces where all people thrive - where people have the skills to communicate effectively with compassion and strength; where people know when they need to lead, and when they can be impactful followers. Kelly sees leadership as a creative endeavour, grounded in personal values.
Kelly’s leadership journey began as a teenager though Girl Guides & Scouts Canada and continued in her through her formal education. Kelly holds an Honours degree in Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism from Lakehead University, and a master’s in health leadership from Royal Roads University.
While completing her MA, Kelly held the inaugural paid position of Lead Midwife for eight years at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital and focused her thesis work on Head Midwives throughout Ontario.
Kelly serves both a clinical preceptor in midwifery practice, and an educator in the Midwifery Education Program – originally with Laurentian University and currently with McMaster University.
Kelly is also a member of the Muskoka Family Focus Parent Educator team, facilitating courses so that parents can be effective leaders of their families.
When not working in a professional capacity, Kelly can be found outdoors or playing her fiddle.
